Julia Roberts movies.

I watch Julia Roberts movies so one day I can learn to speak in dialogue the way she does when she’s speaking someone elses’ words. I wonder to myself if Ms. Roberts is as witty and sharp and cunning in her unscripted life as she is in the roles she chooses. I’d at least like to meet someone like her.

I do not idolize her. She isn’t my favorite actress and I do not think she is beautiful or glamorous in any sense of the word. I just like the way she speaks. Her diction.

I am coming down with a case of “I just saw someone do something in a movie and for the next hour I will be convinced that I can do the same.”

I just wish that something was cleaning.

Rant.

If you act differently than you’ve always acted why does it automatically mean something is “wrong” with you? Why can’t it just mean that you’re tired of the way things are and you’ve kept quiet for far too long and it’s time people understand where you stand?

I am only going to start giving when someone else does too. Selfish? Maybe but that’s what’s going to happen. I will no longer be your doormat. And if I lose the title “Responsible One”, well that’s just fine by me. The heartache that I would feel losing that title won’t compare to the weight lifted off my shoulders in the exact same instant.

Is it always that when people give advice about life it applies to everyone but them?

Dear elderly man who lives next door,

A problem has risen. Although I appreciate your urgency to clear dead foliage off the sidewalk I must insist that you limit the use of your Leaf Blower to just once a week. I do understand that the unsightly collection of one or two leaves in the wood-lined patch of dirt in front of your house can be disturbing but fall is coming and I’d like to sleep in sometime.
